Promises

Like most I dream of a better time,

No hate, no fights, no violent crime.

But I must protect America first,

to anyone apposed do your worst.

Challenge
A sad short story. Make it personal, or universal. (micro-poem or short story)

Sixteen

Sixteen feeling free driving the roads at night.

You'd lost control of the wheel one time.

Only a tree has slowed your path tonight.

Sixteen marked the end of life.

Paws Off

NO kitty, thats MY pot pie!

What are you doing perching on my thigh?

I've told you cat you can not have,

My pot pies not up for grabs!

I see your paws getting closer by the second.

Stop looking at me like that please stop begging.

I've given you beef, pork, and lamb,

Now you're trying another scam?

Im telling you cat back off soon,

You're not taking my pot pie too!

I swear it kitty not again,

Paws off or it'll be off with your head.

You where there for your friend, then... they left you waiting at the end. After all your jokes, secrets and sorrows, they just left. They said they were right to the death, but they're not there. Write about the bittersweet feeling you have in your chest because the bitter part id=s them letting you down, but the sweet part is you knowing you will have a better life with more freedom without them there. Impress me.

To Be Honest (TBH)

If I'm completely honest, you're a total stuck up bitch.

I should left you long ago, or dropped you in a ditch.

You always tried to toy with my head, and the one time you succeeded,

I found you in that bed with him, I didn't sleep with him for a reason.

I guess you've found out now though, why you have an itch.

it's kind of funny really, oh boy is it just rich.

After all I'd let you know, and the secrets we had shared.

The one time it really mattered, I finally didn't care.

and as I realized you left, disappeared with out a trace.

You kept the same old body, but grown a different face.

I can't help but feel a little triumph really,

Because the memories of you kinda made me feel silly.

Colour Blind

I can tell you how the gray trees,

fade into the gray grass,

into the even grayer road,

How the gray you call red is all I'll ever know

How the beauty of vibrant colours has faded into blacks

and the crayons only form one solid gray shaded pack.

Words not Spoken

When the ground is covered in red

and time has stopped in its tracks,

When screams shake the air

and moments have long passed,

When you read the words I've wrote

and regret whats all been said,

Will you grieve the loss of time

or the fact that I am dead?

A Price

He couldn't hear,

I couldn't read,

He couldn't talk,

I couldn't breathe,

He couldn't set his brother free,

I could for a price,

That price was me.
