Characters
Daren: Wanna be hero. Gets trapped by Lyssandra and thrown into the puppet world, where he waits to become a puppet.
Jamima: A puppet that helps Daren survive in the puppet world. Falls for Daren but Daren is oblivious
Lily: A puppet that escapes and tries to find help and runs into Max and helps him rescue Darren and all the puppets.
Max: Daren’s player older brother that has no interest in being a hero. But goes on an adventure to find Daren with Alex who he thinks is a guy, after Aiden tells him he saw Daren being dragged off by a pretty evil girl (Olivia). Falls for Lily after she saves him from being attacked by a random doll monster.
Alex: A strong willed girl dressed as a boy who’s in love with Max but Max thinks she’s a girl. Get’s killed by puppet master.
Maddy: A shy puppet that is apart of the revolt.
Emily: A social awkward yet independent puppet that’s organising a puppet revolt.
Jessica: A kind submissive girl who goes with Max. But secretly she is a puppet spy. Is discovered and goes back to the Puppet Master after being seriously wounded by Lily.
Huk: A person who is a fake hero and is Darens hero but is actually a scaredy cat dag. Max refuses to let him come rescue Daren and isn’t seen until later in the play when him, Gin and Aiden accidentally stumble into the puppet world while drunk.
Puppet Master: The man that controls and makes the puppets. Psychopathic scientist who is very smart and outhinks everyone.
Gin: Huk’s best friend and equally amusing counterpart. Over emotional, over dramatic and stupid he quickly annoys everyone and is only kept in line by Aiden.
Aiden: Sarcastic and snarky, Aiden has no idea how he got stuck with Huk and Gin yet he is and finds their actions bemusing and constantly gets them out of trouble.
Jack: A puppet that Daren accidently punches in the face upon arrival. Consistently makes sassy bitch remarks to Daren whenever addressed.
Olivia: The Puppet Masters bait
Extra Puppets: Alice, ect.
Hannah: Broken puppet that says random things at random moments, seen in the Puppet Masters workshop.
Story
Set medieval times
SCENE 1:
Daren and Huk are walking through a forest. Daren is asking Huk how to become a hero. Introduction of characters. They see a girl offstage, Huk runs to help. Daren follows. Lights down. The forest picture in the screen zooms out to be in a crystal ball. Puppet Master is sitting at a table watching a crystal ball. Purple Spotlight on him, creepy ‘going by plan’ comment. Scream offstage. Creepy ‘oops it’s awake.’ Lights down.
SCENE 2:
Lights up. Huk runs in to see Olivia stuck on a log. He unhooks her as Daren watches. Olivia acts ditzy. All of a sudden a coraline inspired bear comes from off stage. Huk screams and tries to run off but trips over a log and is knocked out. The bear goes to attack Olivia but Daren jumps in front of her and stabs it. It falls to the ground. Olivia hugs Daren, and thanks him. But then says ‘if only you had killed the actual monster’ and stabs him. Daren falls limp. Huk wakes up to see Olivia dragging him off stage. The lights go down. Lights up. Lilly opens a door at the top of a box with purple light glowing out of it placed at the front of the stage.You hear a scream and some laughing. She climbs out with keys, she throws the keys into the box. She slowly closes the door as she closes the door the screaming and laughing gets fainter. When she fully closes the door the noise stops. Lilly looks around before running into the darkness. Lights down.
SCENE 3:
Max and Alex are in a bar flirting with girls, Alex very badly. Jessica is watching Max sadly. Huk runs in babbling. Gin is laughing at him. Aiden manages to get sense out of him and tells Max that Huk saw Daren being dragged off by Samantha. Max after some deliberation decides to go save him. Alex says she’ll come with him. Jessica says she will as well since they need a nurse. Alex volunteers to go and get weapons. Huk asks to come, Max refuses before leaving. Jessica goes to get her supplies. Huk wines to Gin, Alex walks back in with weapons and sees Max is gone. Aiden explains that he stormed off. Alex goes to find him. Lights down.
SCENE 4:
Purple tinged lights. Angry Puppet Master yelling at an extra puppet about a puppet escaping. Samantha enters. Puppet Master seems to calm down. Puppet Master turns extra puppet off (like killing them.) Samantha wheels Daren onstage in a wheelchair. Puppet Master seems happy. Tells her to bring him to the basement until he’s ready. Also that Lilly has escaped, and that she needs to find her. She leaves. Puppet Master goes up to a chess table and moves a piece on the black side where they haven’t been moved and says a cryptic message about first move made. Lights down.
SCENE 5:
Max is sitting on the edge of the stage, his sword beside him. Alex runs in with a bunch of weapons and stops, she tries to put them down silently but they make a bunch of clanging noises. Max looks behind him before going back to looking at the audience. Alex awkwardly sits beside him. Asks what’s wrong. After some convincing Max tells Alex that he’s really worried about Daren and that he doesn’t want to become some hero by saving him because it would really impress his father and his father is an asshole. Alex is very sympathetic until Daren finds it weird so he be’s more of a guy. Jessica walks in with food and medical supplies. They all leave.
SCENE 6:
Daren wakes up to Jake looking at him. He punches Jake in the face. Jake scurries off as he says sorry. He’s very confused. The puppets who were just laying on the ground, get up and start saying things about how great the place is. Extra puppet whispers in his ear they are being controlled and then appears to be dragged off by it’s string. ‘Who’s pulling your strings.’ They keep saying they’re not being controlled. They surround him but he pushes past them and runs off stage. They all fall limp. An extra puppet gets up and looks offstage and says it’s all clear. All the puppets get up. The puppets talk about how they’re being controlled and want to escape and Emily talks about the puppet revolution. Extra puppet looks around the corner and says he’s coming, they all fall limp.
SCENE 7:
Daren runs onstage and see’s Jamima sitting cross legged facing the audience with her eyes closed. ’Hello?” She opens her eyes and freaks him out. She calms him down. She explains that he is waiting to become a puppet. Then she explains that puppets only move when the Puppet Master moves them, or so he thinks. They can actually move on there own, but he doesn’t know. But once he grabs their strings they have to do what he says, and if they find a loophole in his command they get killed so. So they have to go limp whenever they see him. She explains that he is on the top level and is normally only heard as a voice but he can see below him, and they know when he’s coming because they see his shadow through the ceiling. And a black light fades over the stage, Jamima falls limp. The Puppet Master says something cryptic. Daren replies bravely, then he is knocked out and dragged off by an invisible force.
SCENE 8:
Max is walking with Alex and Jessica. Him and Alex are joking around as Jessica follows shyly. Jessica suggests they stop and set up camp since the sun’s going down. Jessica goes to collect herbs for food. Max and Alex

I pray for people to understand
They don't have to pray for another land

The world shouldn't be perfect

Some people need special treatment
Or they'll grow to disrepair

Like many people think we should
The dying and disabled
