I Am Awful

I am the worst human being to ever exist.

A decent person would have saved the day, locked up the criminals without accepting much praise—or at least only use their newfound abilities for purposes that won't effect the bystanders.

I am not a decent person.

The first thing I did when I got telepathy was to blackmail someone.

Of course, said person was also my enemy and has done much worse to me in the past, but it still wasn't my classiest move. She did respond quickly, and I got my mother's necklace back, for what it's worth. And then I accidentally heard her hidden plan to dent my car after school. Of course, the only appropriate response was to beat her to the parking lot, and maybe I slipped a few sharp, large obstacles under her wheels that may or may not have popped her tires... but that's not the point.

My newfound superpower of telepathy is a gift, and I should use it as such, right? So what if a few dozen people get hurt. They had ill intentions, so I exposed them. It's not my fault Janie cheated on Mark, and if she didn't want our entire Biology class to find out, she shouldn't of done it!

She did cry a lot though, and I felt kind of guilty. Mark was also super embarrassed, which doesn't necessarily make him reciprocate my feelings. I also took a peek inside his mind, and might I say, I wouldn't mind being that girl.

But long story short, out of everyone in the world, I should not have been the one to get telepathy. I am not a decent person, and my conscience is kind of weighing down on me, but I'm still going to keep using it for my own purposes.

I mean, you only live once.
