Once Upon a Time... This 15-word challenge is actually an 11-word challenge, because the first four words have to be: "Once upon a time"! (humor, as ever and always, is greatly appreciated!)

that was once and once is now

Once upon a time I actually lived a life instead of fabricating one through words.

Unrequited.

If you love me, please remind me to forget you, because I never loved you.

I just thought I did.

It was not love, it was misery's desire for company.

My life will be so much better if I forget you ever existed.

If you love me, if you truly love me, then you want me to be happy.

I will be so much happier without you in my life.

Your love was one-sided.

Let me go.

I used to be sweet

Describe freedom in 15 words... with one caveat: you can't use the words free, freedom, freeing, freest or freer (even in the title).

Liberty (15 words)

If

I

am

at

peace

with

God,

who

here

can

disturb

me?

Certainly

not

you.

Untitled.

I am indebted to the stars.

Luxury of the working class.

The Lord’s handout to the poor dreamers.

Me, destitute lover, of the moon and her dancers.

Staring blindly above with devotion, in awe of the vaults of Heaven.

The Romeo to Juliet’s balcony, my neck has bent backwards, drinking in deeply the white light of heaven's milk.

Regretting

Regret is eating Chef Boyardee after 9:00pm.

Regret is leaving a "how are you?" text.

Regret is having a cup of coffee at 7:00pm.

Regret is making eye contact walking down the hall.

Regret is never doing.

Regret is never knowing.

Regret is never trying.

Regret is saying "I love you mom".

Regret is not saying "I love you mom".

Regret is saying "I love you" too much.

Regret is saying "I love you" too little.

Regret is not holding on tight enough.

Regret is not letting go.

Regret is giving in.

Regret is giving up.

Regret is leaving the spaces blank.

Regret is pressing "Publish"

Regret is saying "Screw it"

Bravery is knowing that you did anyway.

Wisdom is trying again from a different angle.

Humility is giving thanks that you had the chance to try anyway...

Ten Steps to Recover From a Broken Heart (teenage angst challenge)

Step 1: Apply pressure to the damaged area. Cover the wound with statements that you know are false like "I'm ok" and "I never loved her anyway" in an attempt to stop the bleeding.

Step 2: Pick up the pieces of your broken heart off the ground and attempt reconstruction. WARNING: There will be missing parts! Such as your ability to trust another human being. The final product will resemble a half finish jig-saw puzzle.

Step 3: Search for your missing dignity in the wreckage of a relationship that once was.

Step 4:Smuggle your tears through the the daily grind of your everday routine. This is crucial for recovery, since the shedding of tears is the cleansing of wounds.

Step 5: The pillow you once held, imaging as if it was the soft curves of her fragile body is now your enemy, and in this war against your emotions you cannot sleep with the enemy.

Step 6: Whatever is left between you and her must now be kept strictly professional, so stand tall and walk straight as if her departure didn't crush every bone in your body.

Step 7: Learn to hide your feelings behind a mask of hypocrisy and cheap jokes.

When she asks you how you are doing proceed to tell the biggest lie in human history and reply "I'm good". All the time spent lifting weights could never have prepared you for the weight of the words that you're struggling to hold back.

Step 8: Forgive and Forget. Emphasis on forget.

Step 9: Avoid listening to The Script, The Fray, and Sam Smith.

Step: 10: Repeat.

June 27th (50 words)

She wore

 a pink dress.

and we spoke in silence.

communication built from an alphabet of glances that all said "indifference".

I hate it when I admire how you look.

It frustrates me that you're beautiful

that I have to pretend to not see you

When my eyes

clearly

do.

“Sandcastle Solutions”

 “Sandcastle Solutions”

She offered herself up on an altar of strangers

For the blessings of a thoughtless moment

To the god ,with a sculpted body, a blurry face and cold hands

And in those hands, she committed herself into,

with blind faith and broken identity

scars on her that no foundation could cover

the Truth bled through her

her truth was so paper thin, so fragile and frail

that her cries for help had become whisper and sandcastle

dirt. flesh. fire.

Was that all he had to give?

Was that all she was meant to receive?

Until she replaces her truth for Truth, she will never know.
