Journey of Twelve

A direct route to a point in time,

To a memory of joy, fun and hope

A spring awakening of a cherry blossom

The newness of existence infecting the air.

A turn leads onto a path of curves

Like a snake moving slowly in the long grass

Bringing the truth of all things living,

Destruction, lies and more

Overtaking any glimmer of hope

Of happiness and love desired.

Another turn, a final route,

Biting as cold as a winter freeze

Touching as the darkest of nights,

To a destination, of Twelve journey’s end

A sigh of relief, a free spirit evermore.

This Crazy Mad Twitch

I woke this morning feeling like I had a glitch

Well! It was this Crazy Mad Twitch

I could not fathom where it came from

And tried to press on it with my thumb

It flickered above my right eye

Oh, it was as annoying as a fruit-fly

All day long it persisted there

I tried to remove it with hot air

And then I tried a wide-eyed glare

That was no good, it did not go anywhere

This Crazy Mad Twitch did persevere

So I drowned my misfortune with a beer

The next day it disappeared

Or so I thought, but alas it was as I feared

This Crazy Mad Twitch had volunteered

To move above my Right eye, how Weird!

A Moment in Time

Through your eyes

I watched the dust demise

Leaving bodies of the helpless

Fall into a deep and dreamless sleep

Sirens echoed through the land

As fathers, mothers and children ran

I squatted behind the dusty car

While shots rang out in the bizarre

My heart pounded hard and fast

The blow to all was limitless

So I communicated my response

A reporter wide-eyed and in a trance

Only destruction and pain lived

Was hope too great an ask

As I watched in this moment of time

Through your eyes!

The Silver Watcher

As I raised my hand to my face

It followed my pace

When I combed my hair with grace

It watched boldfaced

As I touched my frown by hand

So, it noticed my white strands

I see you, I see you staring

It said, remember to start caring

My brown eyes tired and dim

It saw my pale olive skin

I asked who are you?

The silver watcher withdrew
