When I’m nothing
When I’m nothing,
but the whispers riding on the wild waves of the wind,
the swirls of dust, dirt and ashes,
the tale through the rustling leaves and creaking branches,
carried in the breeze, or perhaps, on the soles of your feet,
what will fill the chapters of my story?
A girl who dared to claim the brilliant sky.
A girl who cowered in the dark caves.
A girl soaring above the suffocating darkness.
A girl too scared to see the warm sunlight.
A girl who rode a flaming chariot into the blinding light
A girl who flew, crashed and burned, never to rise again.
A girl who set her own crown on her head.
A girl who bound her own hands with chains.
A girl bravely riding in the back of the wild waves and the winds.
A girl swept and drowning under the current.
My story just began.
I can’t wait to fill my pages,
With golden memories,
With pyrite memories,
and diamond moments.
and plastic moments,
and silver tears
and petty tears
(both bitter and sweet).
(when I don’t get my way.)
But I know,
only I can write the chapters of my story.
What I choose today,
will become tomorrow,
So when my story ends,
and I’m nothing,
But the dust of the ground,
and the whispers of the wind,
Will I be a story worth remembering?

A match in the rain
Trying to get you to love me
is like trying to light a match in the rain.
after a small blaze,
a small spark,
it will die out
as the water touches it,
All that will remain would be a memory,
You & I
