A beautiful mix of darkness and light. To the uninitiated it is viewed upon as evil, but to lovers it is called sin.

GRAVEYARD

Haunted by memories,

apparitions of sorrow

Always hoping

they'll be gone tomorrow

Tombstone rows,

epitaphs of un-peace

Dates of birth etched

but no dates of decease

A Time Machine and A Song

Year: 1946. The ceiling is barely visible through the plumes of smoke. The band vibrates the room, and the slit on my scarlet gown opens to my hip. Men in white spats grow silent as my silk gloves touch the mic. The sound of Billie Holiday sings from my mouth.

I Heard Enough, I Said Enough

I heard enough

The sweetest word from your mouth

Knitted carefully with passion

But embedded with the beads of lies

I heard enough

Your song of romance

Beautiful rhythm with melancholia

But insecurity hidden within the lyrics

And I said enough of “I love you”

Because those words

Have lost the magic within

Not a powerful spell to bind honesty

I said enough

About the rage of emotion

But still I’m here

Tangled with my own confusion

I had enough

I heard enough

I said enough

And it’s time to surrender myself

To silence

MY BOY

Does he know

the air leaves the room

upon his exit

because it can't exhale

without him?

Or that the sun's rays

try to chase him

into the shadows,

just for a few more moments

of his warmth?

And does he know

that the stars

peek in his window at night

so they can learn

how to shine?

No......I don't think he knows....

but I do

And I hope you know

That you could bring the sun

To its knees.

it is easy to love

when you are young

all you see is

vibrant flowers and

clear skies

but now that I'm older

all I see is

tears in your eyes and

bruises on my arms

THAT Neverending Tale

Yet a tiny fire kindles,

In their hearts

Forever & ever ...

But along the same path

Innocence faced a crossroad

Hope was challenged by desire

And purpose fell to the side

Smile

My friend was going through a rough time, so I put this on her phone case.

When the sky turns grey,

Smile.

When the lightning strikes,

Laugh.

When the thunder claps,

Cheer.

When the rain falls,

Applaud.

Because you know,

That eventually,

The sky will turn blue,

The lightning will stop,

The thunder will silent,

The rain will disappear,

The storm will pass,

And you will have a headstart.

I'm down to a Fifth and under a six pack and the anxiety sets in. Too drunk to make a run and to tired of life to care. Giving up is harder than you think.
