Retirement

Before long you’ll acquire

As I tire

Knowledge; a bit

If you sit

My stories are not for the weary

Nor the absent minded

Not for the selfish close minded either

One day you’ll understand

Life get’s out of hand

But it’s how you respond

That creates or destroys bond

Between brothers or sisters

Mothers or fathers

Maids or butlers

Lovers or haters

Dos and don'ts are my friends

Which I ought not to use anymore

Since they carry little weight

With my younger allies

Who come by in the ‘now’

‘Then’ and ‘will’...hmm.

Vocabulary nonexistent beyond today

I am waiting now

For a mutual friend

He could be Death

He could be human

I am sure not which

This adds spark to my life

When all else fails

It’s not daunting, it just is

Join me, i have told what i can ‘now’

I wouldn’t mind listening to you

Just don’t presume you know me

And I will do the same

I won't presume to know myself either

Just kidding... You get what I mean

My jokes seem funnier than ever before

They seem less communicable too

If you finish your story

And you see me motionless

Follow suit

Options are as they come

Either I am dead, or asleep

Or if neither then I am thinking

Thinking... a valuable activity…

Don’t interrupt, I’ll let you know

When I am ready to leave you

But I don’t mean I’ll move

I have spent my whole life moving

It’s still your turn

Depart from my porch

That’s how I ‘leave your company’ these days

It’ll be soon when you tag out like I did

With someone else on your own porch

Thinking…

I guess I didn’t follow my rule

To use few, if any, do’s or don’ts

So If I could impart one thing

Don’t use don’ts and do’s. -Chuckle-

There is too little time

For those words

But still let people know the rules

In some form or matter

Now, I think it’s time for ‘me to leave you’

Get up, put one step in front of the other

You’ll find your way off my porch

Not ‘then’ nor ‘will’, it’s all the same

But Now, if you are not still

I insist,Bill

After all you are tagged in

My human friend and kin

Is this your porch or mine?

‘Now’ is outside of time

Not sure I know

I guess, like most things, it’s just so...

Birds

Blue birds are most of what i see

As they fly over the tree

Heading south

To feed their mouth

And their children

In the den

Avoiding the reckoning

That is soon come

They just seem to know

And there they go

Before the snow

In formation

Like soldiers

Or so i have been told

By those of old

Night Out

Sentient walls march closer in

My room threatens to grab me

Shadows wane across the far wall

"I must be free"

Brief exclamations follow silent cries

The exodus is here, now!

Brush teeth, grab the wallet, and the keys

To the world

Hello Adventure, "What's up?"

The Real -ism

Realism provides no schism

This ism convicts like a prison

Recognizing in all, beauty

Better than a Cutie

My mind is blown

No longer a stone

Enraptured I'm lost

But at no cost

You say "I Doubt"

Half in, Half out

You fell on your sword

No wonder you're bored

Only this life: to short

Even to retort

From the makeshift island beach

Lets hear you preach

Apparently, you know a lot

as you taught

'bout knowing so little

I can't help but giggle

I say it's true

That's my view

Why so tense

Don't take offense

Now I'm a relativist

In a lover's tryst

With me myself and I

My dillusions... Oh hi

Another ism of subjectivity

This dominion of triviality

Objective reality silently heard

In the origin of Word

Objects wait, forming

While we we stand nonconforming

To Beauty, Good, and Truth

A universal info booth

Unless we lift the eye of our soul

It will take a crippling toll

This challenge is ripe

Perfect for the human type

"Know this life is real"

Correct all false appeal

All may, with certainty, Know

But on it there is no perfect bow

Today just know we live

Truly, in that we give

Go ahead and talk

But do not balk

From the reason of realism

Get rid of this 'feel-ism'

Love is what the world needs

In all its deeds

Empiricism oh so mighty

But so cold and tidy

Heartless in your nature

Love clamors while you encage her

Love is the drug

That gives a hug

Harder and stronger than hate

Transforming it, not one moment too late

But if you insist on this 'feel-ism'

Which lacks the vitality of the real -ism

I implore you at the very least

to consider in front of you, the feast

Which could be yours

Through the open doors

You are dying to behold

Of which as a kid you were told

Realism posseses flaws

Amidst its yawning jaws

But to find the best

Is the ultimate test

This is it, I guarantee

Follow me, you'll see

What your life could entail

Success or fail

Will you take my hand

As well as a stand

Against suppressing weights

Will you pass through the gates?
