Why can’t I see you anymore.

You weren’t in the bathroom this morning.

Didn’t see you when I got in the car for work.

When I arrived at work you didn’t follow me in like usual.

I missed your morning eye roll when I sat at my desk.

You’re not there when I pick up my phone on break.

My day continues but you’re no where to be found.

People smile and say hi to you all day.

Seems like you’re only hiding from me.

Tiptoeing through shards of broken fantasies

I know what lies ahead, not one graze will be in vain

lesions of journeys prior have yet to scar only further inspiring my trips to these parts. a place heralded as forbidden by the fire it ignites inside me but the rebel that I am is so eager to defy me.

a place I never want to go because I never want to leave. everything’s enchanted the ground, the trees, the breeze. every now and then I feel them calling out for me, but it’s the vines that get me every time,

I arrive, appearing wholesome and naïve to the impercipient eye. but not everyone’s a fool

The moon knows my longing and the stars know my motives, so the night sky will tell the story of a dreamer devoted.

I become intertwined in the vines but this is why I came. Delirium draws me back and being present in their presence is an impractical task.

How quickly they infiltrate my mind

Breaking down the anatomy of every poem I ever wrote, revealing words I never spoke, forming a grip around my throat, a gentle choke that will provoke me to uncloak

I haven’t left but I’m counting the hours until I’m back here again being devoured by the vines they get me every time,

It all started last night.

I saw a girl walking.

I decided to approach her.

I asked for her number.

She gave it to me!

You did something unimaginable

But the most painful thing of all was the lack of remorse in your eyes
