Writers

That's the best thing about writers; whenever they can't spill blood, they spill ink.

Challenge
Let's make a paradise! This can be anything you envision as the perfect place to go and relax. Perhaps a beach, or a waterfall or maybe some romantic city. Maybe it's a room in your house. Be creative! My retreats are always nature related, perhaps yours are too or perhaps they are quite different. Take me with you and walk me there. Show me around. Any type of writing. Prefer poetry. Tag me and I have done one too.

Dreamer’s World

In my dreams, I see gold,

In my dreams, truth be told.

With streams of champagne,

And happiness to gain,

Our smiles never dip,

For in the fountain of youth we sip.

Magic is reality for it is fun,

Here we live with a moon, not sun.

It snows coconut shavings,

And easily soothed are our cravings.

Animals talk back to us,

In a world without fuss.

Our Shameful Distance

This. Selfish. Race:

Instinctively, we react

Protecting ourselves

Against the Illusion

With hysterical madness, and

Under the domination

Of Trepidation

Evolved intellectually

But suffocating

On empathy inhaled

Too deeply, and

We never exhaled ...

And now we fall

And we suffocate slowly

On our solitary demise

Purged into the Hateful Mass

Spiraling, and

We are

Out of control

In a perpetual state of

Numb survival

Blind and effortless

Trudging through

The motions displaced

By egotistical emotion

And hailing, we

Salute to Fear

And the knee-jerk reactions

Endangering us with

Fate dominated

By ignorance, but

Corrective action is

Hovering ...

Perched on

The horizon in --

Olive trees

But like a whore spread ...

On the porch of

An escapist's brothel

We bargain addicted, and

In the name of

Our Insecurities

We succumb --

Dead to the Acceptance

Offered in:

The name of Equality

Shedding light on

The unconditional family

Waiting, and ready with

Kneaded compassion, and

Our lost freedom found.

But to set aide

Our indulgent motives

It seems simple --

But it resides somewhere

Still out of reach

And too far away.

Photographs

It's a tragedy that phone cameras cannot capture the beauty of the night sky, isn't it? I personally think it's because some things are too beautiful for photographs, and they are only meant to hold a special place deep within our hearts. In a world where proof is often needed to believe the tales ordinary people tell, what a photograph does not capture becomes a myth to everyone except you, the bearer of its truth. So when I scroll through my phone's gallery or search my room's cabinets wanting to come across a picture of us enjoying each other's company, but find nothing, I choose not to believe the love we once felt is lost; rather, we were simply too beautiful for photographs.
