Prose Challenge of the Week #32: Write a piece of micropoetry about regret. The winner will be chosen based on a number of criteria, this includes: fire, form, and creative edge. Regret

I did it,

I wish I didn't.

Periodically the muse does her siren thrall 

Reminding me I must heed the writer's call

Open up a vein and bleed out upon the wall 

Salacious or comforting, sitcoms or novels great and small

Eventually must be written if I'm to sleep at all.

Profundities and metaphors, rhyming "thee" with "whee"

Remembering it's not quite always an "I" before an "E"

Obsequious, offensive, somewhere middle of the road

Soliloquies and sonnets seems everything's in code

Egregiously I fallen rather short, no problem, I'll have my day in court.

Remembering, recording, writing it all

through

Opening a vein and bleeding on a wall

Soliloquies on life that claim

Everything fodder for the author's
