Puzzler
I just joined with my King, @MisterEnigma. The crux of our love story is that we are perfect for each other because our fkd-up-ness. Even though he’s the Yin to my Yang in every way, our pasts should’ve IMMEDIATELY disqualified us as a couple (a very personal story for another day, but imagine a lion and a zebra falling in love).
He’s tall, strong, stoic, and driven by logic—I’m short, fragile, fiery, and driven by passion. We are both word nerd writers who care about the same things, but the odds of us meeting were astronomical (no, we didn’t meet online). Yet somehow, like two parts of an 8-billion-fkd-up-piece-puzzle, we fell perfectly into place.
We actually fell in love by writing old school letters back and forth and we’ve been describing our relationship “like a puzzle” ever since. Our first “I love you” letter to each other was sent just one hour apart! It was truly meant to be. So… we wanted a play on letters and/or words that would reflect our love.
I thought of the Latin word “aenigma“ for puzzle. Then, being the film fanatic I am, I remembered in Batman Forever that The Riddler used a riddle to tell Batman his identity. Using a pseudonym called “Mr. E” (as in Mr. E Nigma), the “mystery“ behind Edward Nigma was revealed. We could’ve used Mr. E. Nigma but we didn’t want to copy the movie exactly.
Of course my darling got the cool name (MisterEnigma) since he’s the guy, so I had to come up with a female version. I was gonna use “MissEnigma” but I couldn’t bear the thought of calling myself “Missy” (no offense, I just don’t like that name). Instead, I used his actual nickname for me which is “Lil’ Girl” and came up with LilEnigma. I love the name Lily (LilE) and I’m the “Lil” missing piece to his “mystery” (MisterE). I’m just little compared to him and calling him “Mister” as a sign of respect and eager submission is something I really enjoy as well. It all fell right into place, just like us.
If you made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read a little about us. We’re so thrilled to be here!

PS: I’m sorry if my cussing offended you. I’m curious as to what all we can/can’t post on the Prose website. I have a pretty filthy mouth and I write really dark true stories about my “unique” experiences. However, I’ve never gone public with my writing before now, so I have no gauge on what’s “too much”. I personally detest censorship, but hurting others is worse. Any advice? Guidelines? Thanks!
